All these pieces are cut using  a computer numerically controlled (CNC) plasma cutter.  I designed and built the plasma cutter table and controls.

John Lennon Wall Hanging

This piece is a metal silhouette of John Lennon. The piece is 15” x 20” and cut from 1/8” steel with a glossy black it really catches your eye.. This is one of the first pieces I’ve made and I’m very happy with the results. I haven’t seen any images of this type cut from metal. I had it hanging flat on the wall and though it look good but I discovered that if you hang it with about a 1/4″ to 1/2” standoff from the wall it really stands out (no pun intended). The shadows created by the standoff add a really great effect. I think for the best effect it really needs to hang on a white wall. The white you see in the image is the wall showing through where the metal has been cut away.  I’ve sold about 10 of these and sent four to a customer in Japan.

Of course I’m a Lennon fan and plan on doing more Lennon pieces and also some piece featuring other great rock and pop artist. I was thinking of Janis, The Dead (and Jerry), Jimi, Stones,…….. maybe even a little Parrot Head art. Not sure what I’ll come up with!

NASCAR – Dale Earnhardt Tribute

The Win – Tribute to Dale Earnhardt’s 1998 win in the Daytona 500.  - Steel – Black Hammered Paint – $250

The Win (The Intimidator) – In 1998 Dale Earnhardt’s #3 Mr. Goodwrench car won the Daytona 500 after 20 years of trying. He edged out  #18 Bobby Labonte’s Pontiac.  This piece is a tribute to that well deserved win and the Intimidator’s life and impact on NASCAR Racing.  Yes, I’m a NASCAR fan. I was at the 2001 Daytona 500 when Dale had his fatal crash.   This piece has a lot of detail and is about 50″ long.
